Happy November!

I love the changing of the seasons! Especially this one we are in now! Fall is time for new beginnings, the color of the leaves changing, the looking forward to Thanksgiving and celebrations that this time of year brings. This year has looked different for all of us and I’m sure the changing of this season has as well. I have been thinking about with each season there comes a time of change and adapting to what that season entails.

Adapt means the ability to change as to fit a new specific use or situation. Wow! Think on that. How much adapting has this year brought to you? Maybe it’s in your family, with your husband and kids. Maybe it’s in your career working in an office to now working at home. Maybe it’s been doing school at home with your kids until they can go back to school hybrid. Maybe like for me, it’s been learning to teach music in a completely new way. But in all theses situations, we have had to be flexible and adapt to how things have to be done now.

Being adaptable requires us to live above circumstances and situations especially in 2020!

Paul said in Phillipians 4: 10 – 13 (JB Phillips) 10-13 It has been a great joy to me that after all this time you have shown such interest in my welfare. I don’t mean that you had forgotten me, but up till now you had no opportunity of expressing your concern. Nor do I mean that I have been in actual need, for I have learned to be content, whatever the circumstances may be. I know now how to live when things are difficult and I know how to live when things are prosperous. In general and in particular I have learned the secret of facing either poverty or plenty. I am ready for anything through the strength of the one who lives within me.

That’s so good! Maybe in 2020 you have experienced some inconveniences and challenges as I have but if we apply this word to our circumstances we can rely on the one who lives inside of us, Jesus, we can put our trust and dependency in Him and He will come along side to be our help and strength!

Something to think about: How have you used this season to “adapt”? And what are some other things in your life do you need to “adapt” to? What about adapting to God’s way of kingdom living which is living in His righteousness, peace and joy not in the circumstances of this life. I challenge you to look for His righteousness, His peace, and His joy in the everyday season of your life! When you “adapt” your thoughts to be agreeable to His will, everything changes!

Thanks for being with me and I look forward to our next time together! Happy November!
